Who I am

I am Michele Roys,

For twenty years, I led people through change — across ten countries, four continents, and every kind of pressure a growing organisation can produce. Then chronic illness became the hardest test I'd ever led anyone through, including myself. What I built to keep functioning through it became The Protocol: the same four steps I now bring to teams who are carrying more than anyone realises.

Most people are told to push harder when pressure hits. That advice fails at exactly the moment it matters.

What actually holds is a process — something you can follow when motivation is gone and the situation hasn’t improved. I know, because I built mine somewhere it had to work.

The Method

Four moves you can run when everything else has stopped working.

Not a mindset. Not a mantra. A sequence — short enough to remember under stress, and specific enough to act on.

01

Name it.

Say precisely what the pressure is. No denial, no drama. You cannot manage what you refuse to look at directly.

02

Shrink it.

Reduce “everything” to the next thing you can actually finish. Pressure is only unmanageable at full scale.

03

Run it.

Act on the procedure, not on how you feel. The protocol carries you when motivation won’t.

04

Close it.

Finish the loop. An open loop keeps drawing on you long after the task is over — closing it is what protects the next one.

“I didn’t learn this in a classroom. I learned it on the days I had nothing left and still had to deliver.”

Reviews

“Michele brought exactly what our team needed — not a generic motivational talk, but a method people actually used the following Monday. Months later, I still hear people referencing ‘shrink it’ in meetings.”

Sarah Mitchell

Head of People, Nova Logistics

“Rare to find a speaker who balances real vulnerability with practical application like this. Our leadership team walked away with a shared language for talking about pressure that we didn’t have before.”

James Okafor

Conference Organizer, Northbridge Summit

“I didn’t expect to cry at a corporate event. I didn’t expect to leave with an actual plan, either. Both happened.”

Who I work with

Two rooms. One protocol.

For organizations

Teams under sustained pressure

Deadlines, restructures, understaffing, relentless change. Your people don’t need to be told to be resilient — they need something to actually do when it gets hard.

For individuals

Living with pain, illness or loss

Where this started, and where it stays. Honest conversation about carrying something heavy and building a life anyway — without pretending it’s easy.
